Borough Council Meeting Alert!
POTTSTOWN, PA – Tonight is Pottstown Borough Council’s regular monthly meeting. It’s important to attend tonight’s meeting to show your support to Council in regards to the proposed rental ordinance changes.
For a refresher, check out this post on Code Blue’s The Pulse:
Homeowners, Townsfolk – UNITE!
Here is the agenda for tonight’s meeting:
We’re also happy to see that a motion will be introduced at tonight’s meeting to authorize the Solicitor to draft a Shade Tree Ordinance. As we stated last week, the Borough’s Shade Tree Commission has ceased being effective to the taxpayers and our community a long time ago and should be disbanded.
Tonight’s meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m. at Pottstown Borough Hall, 100 East High Street, 3rd floor, Council Meeting Room.
As this is the regular monthly meeting, there is the opportunity for the public to address council. So get there early to sign up and keep your comments short, sweet and to the point.
See you there!

This is long overdue. The destruction of folks sidewalks was never considered when the plan to plant all these trees was hatched. A separate tree maintenance and sidewalk repair fund should have been established and funded since the beginning. Kudos to the Council and the Boro Manager for doing what is right.
I forget the millage of what the $21,000 Council used to donate to Trees Inc., I think it was .2 mills. Anyway, I would have no problem paying that out of my taxes, as long as it goes to a fund specifically earmarked for tree maintanence or tree related sidewalk repairs. Also, the charge to businesses “in lieu of trees” would also go to this fund.
