A Celebratory Toast to 2010!
POTTSTOWN, PA – Well folks…it’s that time of the year again. Time to get out the brandy snifter, snuggle up by the fire in our bunny slippers and velvet robe and look fondly back at the past year to see just what exactly we accomplished (and where the heck the time went!).
We here at SavePottstown!! think 2010 was a banner year. We started off 2010 with a revised blog (and our own domain name). We exposed lots of lies and welcomed rays of sunshine into those dark corners of Pottstown’s ethically-challenged closet.
In 2010, we said hello to the President’s Task Force, the re-branding of Pottstown School Board President Rick Huss, PSD Superintendent Reed Lindley, Code Blue, Positively!Pottstown, New Main Street Manager Leighton A. Wildrick, Citizens for Pottstown’s Revitalization, Slumlords on the Run and Proposals for More Section 8 Housing.
In 2010, we bid adieu to PSD Superintendent David Krem, the Pottstown Shade Tree Commission, the Neighborhood Elementary Schools Committee, Paid Advertisements on The Mercury’s Opinion Page, the Keim Street Bridge and Voting Blocs on the Pottstown School Board.
Allow us to take a stroll down Memory Lane to revisit what was 2010 and to share with our readers our most fav posts that helped changed Pottstown for the better.

Thank you to all our readers. You’re a great bunch of folks to banter with and we enjoy your comments and thoughts on how to make Pottstown the best place we all know it can be.
It’s been a terrific 2010 and we’re looking forward to more changes for the better for Pottstown in 2011!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

My hat is off to the brilliant, beyond brilliant folks that have stepped up to make a difference in P’town in 2010!!
Thanks, large in part, to the freedom people felt from the voice of SP!! a great many people are given a place to come and find MANY different points of view and places to dig deeper!! There is now a network and place to hear others and compare facts and listen to differing opinions WITHOUT all the silliness we are witnessing in the Merc online. While the Merc is still a news source for many, the one way dialogue there is tiresome. Frequently, we see peeing contests and no lively debate – on this site and the others mentioned in the sidebar we find info AND (in some instances) honest debate and information seekers questions be answered.
SP!! is one of a kind and has helped to begin a revolution and revelation on the part of many concerned townfolk (& those that care about the town, despite not residing in it). We all need a halping hand and we all need to be open to change and challenge to progress and become the town people are talking about (& then visiting, spending money in, opening business & wanting to live)…
Snuggle up and thank the folks that are making the effort to shape the future…a toast to ALL of you, my friends!!!
2011 has the potential to become the year that redefines P’town!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
When I look back on this series of posts, I am awed by the insightfulness and humor of the Save Pottstown!! team, as well as your ability(ies) to communicate the heart of any issue succintly and successfully. Most of all, I’m awed by what you were able to accomplish.
It’s hard to believe that only a year ago it seemed certain that Pottstown taxpayers would be forced to finance an experiment designed to bolster the speaking credentials of one man. My resolution for 2011 is never to forget that common sense can prevail, no matter how the deck might be stacked against it!
