When Journalism Goes Bad

POTTSTOWN, PA – This is the kind of crap that happens when you allow the foxes to guard the henhouse.

Perhaps if Tom Hylton’s hand-picked members of his “Neighborhood Schools Team” posse voted to allow PCTV to record school board meetings (instead of them voting against it in 2008), the current video garbage du jour over at The Fishwrap would never have happened.

But since ace reporter Evan Brandt was farting around and not paying attention to the entire conversation that escalated into a very vocal discussion at last Wednesday’s Finance/Personnel Committee meeting, we’ll never know what contributing factors led up to the event.

If PCTV had been recording Wednesday night’s meeting, the conversation would have been aired for the public to view in its entirety, instead of select edited snippets of the event being posted online at The Fishwrap totally out of context.

And have you read the online comments over at The Fishwrap today? It’s all the same old swine dancing and prancing in their own feces hyperventilating over the faux euphoria of having caught red handed the so-called horrendous behavior of one of Tom Hylton’s former “Neighborhood Schools Team” candidates.

How do you like that fact that Hylton and his scream victim ValGal were the only two members of the board to vote against last night’s budget? We’re going to address the white elephant in the room: Tom Hylton is a total joke. He knew damn well that everyone was going to vote for the budget, so who cares if two board members vote the other way…because the budget was going to pass regardless…and Tom would still come out smelling like roses (or so he erroneously believes). We guess Tom is only thinking about his election chances (cough…cough…NO WAY IN HELL…cough…cough) in two years when his term is next up on the chopping block. Oh we forgot…Tom Hylton is only thinking of the voters.  Of course! That’s why he votes the way he does. For the benefit of our children. God bless Tom Hylton!

I don’t know about you SP, but it’s pretty obvious to me that Tom Hylton is paying people to write favorable comments about him (and very unfavorable comments about anyone who doesn’t agree with him) over at The Muckery. As you’ve said in the past, Mr. Hylton doesn’t have any friends, so he has to pay to have people cast shadows on others and make himself look good.

I guess the monthly subscription at reputation.com is too expensive even for Mr. Moneybags.

Two thumbs up for outing the white elephant in the room.

  2. What Are You Fighting to Protect

BBQBill… I think Hylton is paying the Pottstown Area Republican Party (or whatever it’s called), and the biggest Rah-Rah WingNuts in that organization are posting to defend him. Just like Hylton is trying (many would say succeeding) at wielding influence over The Muckery with his advertising dollars, so is he trying (and apparently succeeding) at OWNING the Pottstown Republican Party by paying for campaign literature.

The problem is that Hylton’s campaign dollars are as likely to be used to attack a Republican as to support one. How any self-respecting registered R can allow him or herself to be Hylton’s B word is beyond me. He DICTATES who the Republican candidates will be and then makes the party eat its own if they dare to question Pope Thomas Paul Hylton’s omnipotence and infallibility.

Gail Yoder is a complete and utter FAILURE as a party leader. She doesn’t lead anything except anonymous cheering parties for Tom Hylton over at The Muckery On Line. Yoder stands by while Hylton attempts to destroy people who have been faithful Republicans for decades. I guess Hylton is the only Republican who matters to Gail Yoder.

Yes, Gail Yoder prays at the plaid-clad idol of the former editorial writer turned municipal dictator Thomas Hylton. They remind me of that old cartoon Pinky and the Brain:

Gail Yoder: “Gee, Tom, what do you wanna do tonight?”
Tom Hylton: “Same thing we do every night, Gail. Try to take over the world… er… Pottstown, anyway.”

And another abyssmal failure like a Europark or back-in diagonal parking is born.

It’s official. The Muckery is the most corrupt and unethical business in Pottstown. That’s my Reader’s Choice vote.

I don’t think I’ve ever had the displeasure of reading so much BS in my life.

The online editor is even defending Tom Hylton’s antics. Yes Eileen. Tom Hylton IS pulling the wool over the eyes of Pottstown voters. He’s a total and absolute sneak and if you think I’m going to believe that he isn’t registered under numerous aliases over at The Muckery, you (like Tom Hylton) are living in Fantasyland.

I just don’t understand why The Muckery is so enamored with Tom Hylton. Seriously. What good thing has he done for Pottstown? Why isn’t Pottstown another Phoenixville – or – dare I use the “M” word – (Manayunk)?

Eileen Faust should get wise and spend a couple of hours reading the research done on your site SP. There are facts on this site that expose Tom Hylton for the huckster and sham that he is. The fact that The Muckery has steadfastly refused to acknowledge those facts speaks volumes.

Thank you SP for having this forum and site. It’s a breath of fresh with real investigative journalism that is sorely lacking in Pottstown. You’d think The Muckery would get some smarts and take a page from your book. They just don’t get it and never will.

BBQBill, Eileen’s popping in to address the method by which elected officials are required to comment on the Fishwrap inadvertently led discerning readers to the names of the only ETHICAL registrants from the SB:

“Michelle Pargeon, Polly Weand, Rick Huss and Judyth Zahora

Her defense of Hylton was comical. Like Eileen, but excuse me, not everyone is as inept or gullible as the clowns and jokers who masquerade as Hylton supporters.
